1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato SZ-2

Aluminum bodied Coda Tronca coupe by Zagato. One of 44 built.

Here is a photo of the Sprint Zagato racing at the Sebring 12 hrs of 1962. This Alfa
finished 1st in class and 11th overall! Powered by a 1300cc 4 cylinder twincam and driven by
Art Swanson and Ross Durant, the Zagato beat EVERY Corvette and lot's of other
large-diplacement machines in this grueling 12 hour race. The Facetti
tuned engine acheived 149 HP, enough to propell the aluminum bodied 1800 lb coupe
to speeds in excess of 130mph. This very car was one of the
first four Alfa Romeos ever to have front disc brakes.

Another photo of the same car at Sebring one year later-1963, where it finished 2nd in class.
